Choose a case based on how you hold and lay your phone, not just how it looks. On the road, slippery edges, excess thickness and imprecise cuts are especially noticeable.
Check clutch and control

Test the case on a real route
Place your phone in a car or bicycle holder, check the charging in a horizontal position and make sure that the case does not catch on your clothes. A secure fit is more important than big promises of protection.
